Meet the Author

CAT Wyatt is an intuitive, colorful storyteller whose fiction is shaped by a lifetime of extraordinary experiences, serendipitous encounters, and unexpected twists of fate. An eccentric free spirit with an adventurous heart, she has spent her life finding herself in both the right place at the right time—and occasionally the wrong place at the wrong time. These experiences infuse her writing with authenticity, humor, mystery, and keen observations of human nature.

Known for her vivid “slice-of-life” storytelling, CAT crafts narratives that capture the beauty, absurdity, and resilience found in everyday lives. Her work often reveals the extraordinary hidden within ordinary moments, delivered with a sly sense of humor and an appreciation for life's mysteries.

Adventure has always been a defining theme in CAT’s life. She has embraced opportunities ranging from living aboard and racing sailboats to exploring new places, professions, and communities. Adopted and raised as an only child by a loving village of extended family and friends, she made a life-changing discovery at age sixty-five: she was the eldest of six siblings.

More than twenty of her short stories have been published in literary journals and reviews, including Missing in Action (MARY), The Islands (Good Works Review), B.J., Where Are You? (Dunes Review), and SAGE (Penmen Review).

CAT has studied under and been mentored by acclaimed writers and industry professionals, including David Kirkpatrick, Julie Cantrell, Sadeqa Johnson, Jeff Arch, and Margaret South through Story Summit. She has also attended master classes at the Kauai Writers Conference and participated in the Tomales Bay and Tutka Bay Writers Workshops. Her continuing studies have included workshops with celebrated authors Pam Houston, Richard Bausch, and Luis Alberto Urrea.

Throughout her career, CAT has worn many hats. She has worked as a licensed hairdresser, real estate professional, American Red Cross staff member, police bureau employee, and trauma intervention specialist. Her commitment to service extends to volunteer work with military support organizations and Meals on Wheels.

CAT lives in Anchorage, Alaska, with her husband and their adopted cat. When she is not writing, she is collecting stories, crafting new adventures, and discovering inspiration in the remarkable journeys of everyday people.
